Rubbish removal in Epping, from just down the road in Theydon Bois

What we take

What we take away in Epping, and how to book

Booking comes down to 3 things: a photo, a price and a date. Message or call 07834 527 855, or use the quote form.

Worktops and cupboards from a refit

Old carcasses, doors, worktops and the boxes the new units came in. We load the lot from the drive or the front garden.

More than 10 bulky items

The council caps its special collection at 10 items in 6 months. A dining set, 2 beds and a wardrobe pass that quickly, and we take the lot in 1 visit.

Loft and garage clear outs

Suitcases, broken chairs, old bikes and years of odds and ends. We bring it down the ladder and out to the van for you.

Mixed loads priced from a photo

Furniture, bags and a bit of garden waste in 1 pile is normal. A couple of photos from different sides is enough for us to price it.

Soil, rubble and broken paving

Bagged soil, cracked slabs and hardcore from a garden project. Tell us roughly how many bags so we bring the right amount of space.

A carrier you can look up

Before anyone loads your rubbish, you can check them on the Environment Agency public register. We are on it under CBDU525129. We explain how further down this page.

Getting to you

Coming up to Epping from Theydon Bois

We are based in Theydon Bois, 1 stop down the Central line from Epping station at the end of the line. We cover the whole of Epping CM16, from the High Street (the B1393) to the roads and closes either side of it.

On Mondays the market takes over part of the High Street. If you live close to it, tell us when you book and we will plan where the van stops so we are not blocking stalls or neighbours.

We also work in Theydon Bois itself and down the road in Loughton.

Council or us

The council special collection, and where it stops

Epping Forest District Council runs a special collection for bulky household items. As published on 15 October 2026, it costs £34.80 for 1 to 3 items, £52.80 for 4 to 7 and £69.60 for 8 to 10, with a limit of 10 items per address in 6 months. Items go out on the boundary by 6.30am, and nothing is collected from garages.

For a single sofa and a mattress, that service is a fair option and we will tell you so. Where it stops is spelled out on the council page: it "can't be used for refurbishments or clearances", and it refuses worktops, fixtures and fittings, carpet and underlay, building waste and garden waste.

Take a kitchen refit in Epping. The fitters leave a stack of old base units, a laminate worktop, the sink, a roll of old lino and 12 bags of packaging on the drive. None of it fits the special collection, because it is refurbishment waste. That is the job we are set up for: we load the units and worktop, bag the loose bits, sweep the drive and take it all in 1 trip.

The usual starting point

Side passages, sheds and spare rooms

Most clear outs begin in the places nobody looks at: the side return full of bags, the shed with a dead mower, the spare room that turned into storage. We work from the back forwards, so nothing gets carried through the house twice, and we keep paths and lawns clear while we go.

If the garden is the bigger part of your job, read about garden waste in Epping, or see our main household rubbish removal page.

Pricing

How the price for an Epping job is worked out

There is no fixed list. The price comes from what you show us, and 4 things move it:

  • How much there is, measured by the space it fills in the van.
  • How heavy it is. Soil and rubble cost more to tip than the same space of cardboard.
  • What it is. Fridges, freezers and some electricals have to be handled apart from general waste.
  • How far we carry it. Stairs, a top floor flat or a long garden path all add time.

Send a photo with something in it for scale, such as a door or a wheelie bin, and we will come back to you with a price. There is more detail on how we price a load.

Your duty

Checking who takes your rubbish

If anyone other than the council takes your household rubbish, the law expects you to check they are allowed to carry it. That duty is in section 34(2A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, and a council can fine a householder whose waste turns up dumped.

Epping Forest District Council's own special collection page sends residents to the Environment Agency public register of waste carriers. Searching it takes a minute: type in the business name, or the registration number they give you, and see whether a current record comes up. Ask any collector for that number before they load anything, us included. Type in CBDU525129 and our record comes up.

Running a shop or office in Epping? A business also needs a waste transfer note for each load that leaves its premises.

Questions

Rubbish removal in Epping: your questions

Can the council take my refurbishment waste in Epping?

+

No. Epping Forest District Council says its special collection cannot be used for refurbishments or clearances, and it refuses worktops, fixtures and fittings and building waste (as published on 15 October 2026). We can take that kind of load.

How quickly can you come out to Epping?

+

We come from Theydon Bois, the next village along, so the distance is not the issue. Tell us the date you need when you send your photo and we will say straight away whether we can do it.

Do I need to be at home?

+

It helps if you are there when we arrive, so we can agree what goes. If you cannot be, say so when you book and we will talk through access, such as a side gate, before the day.

How do you price a mixed load?

+

By the space it takes in the van, its weight and what is in it. A few photos showing the whole pile, with a door or bin for scale, lets us price it before we arrive.

Where does the waste go?

+

To waste sites that are allowed to accept that type of waste. If you want to know where your load went, ask us and we will tell you.

Can you take soil and rubble from an Epping garden?

+

Yes, bagged or loose. The council special collection refuses soil and building waste, and the nearest Essex recycling centres, Waltham Abbey and Chigwell, do not take bookings for vans, so a loaded van is often the simplest way to move it.
