Electrical waste disposal from Theydon Bois, near Epping. We carry out old fridges, freezers, washing machines, TVs and computers from wherever they stand and load them onto our van. Send us a photo and we will come back to you with a price.

What we take
If it has a plug, a battery or a cable, tell us about it and we will say if we can take it.
Under counter fridges, tall fridge freezers and chest freezers. Defrost and empty them first if you can, and tape the door shut.
Washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers. Turn off the water and drain the hoses beforehand so nothing leaks on the way out.
Flat screens, old tube televisions, monitors and the tangle of leads and remotes that came with them.
Desktops, laptops, printers, keyboards and cables. Remove or wipe anything holding personal data before we arrive.
Freestanding cookers, microwaves and kitchen appliances. A cooker that is wired or plumbed in must be disconnected by a qualified engineer first.
Kettles, toasters, hoovers, hi fi units, lamps and power tools, bagged or boxed together so they load in one go.

The council option
Epping Forest District Council runs a paid special collection that takes some electricals, including fridges and freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, TVs, computers and vacuum cleaners, as published on 15 October 2026. It does not take large American style fridges with a water dispenser.
The rules are tight. As published on the same date:
If your old fridge freezer is at the back of the garage, down a narrow side passage or too heavy for 2 people, that is where we come in. We pick it up from where it stands.
Council rules read from the Epping Forest District Council special collection page on 15 October 2026. Other councils set their own rules, so check yours.
How the job runs
Send a photo of each appliance and say where it is: kitchen, upstairs bedroom, garage or garden shed.
We price the job from what you send and tell you the price before anything goes on the van.
Switch off and defrost fridges and freezers, drain washing machines and unplug everything. Clear a path to the door if you can.
We lift it, walk it out taking care not to cause damage to floors and door frames, and load it. Ask us where it is taken and we will tell you.

How it is priced
A washing machine at the end of a short drive and a fridge freezer on the second floor of a block with no lift are different jobs, so we do not use one rate for both. We look at:
Send a photo and we will come back to you with a price. The rubbish removal prices page explains how a price is built and compares council costs with ours.
Who uses it
Homeowners whose new fridge has arrived but the old one is still standing in the hall. Landlords swapping a broken washing machine between tenants. Offices replacing a row of monitors and printers. Anyone clearing a garage that has gathered 3 old TVs and a freezer that stopped working years ago.
Whoever you use, check them before you hand anything over. Householders have a legal duty to take reasonable steps to check that the person taking their waste is authorised to do so, under section 34(2A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Ask for a registration number and look it up on the Environment Agency public register. We are on it under CBDU525129.

Yes. A single fridge or freezer is a job we are happy to take on. Send a photo, tell us where it is, and we will come back to you with a price.
Epping Forest District Council's special collection takes fridges and freezers, but not large American style ones with a water dispenser, and only from your boundary, as published on 15 October 2026. If you live in another district, check your own council's page.
It helps. Switch it off the day before, let it defrost and mop up the water. Tape the door shut so it cannot swing open while we carry it.
Remove or wipe hard drives and phones before we collect. We take the hardware away; the data stored on it is yours to deal with first.
Yes. We carry items out from where they are, including garages, sheds, lofts we can safely reach and upstairs rooms.
Ask any carrier for their registration number and check it on the Environment Agency public register. Householders must take reasonable steps to check, under section 34(2A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Ours is CBDU525129, so you can look us up before we load anything.
